HOCO Week RULED!

Hello everyone! It’s me again, Rambo! This week has been an eventful one for Hillcrest. I have gotten to see so many people dressing up and showing their school spirit, which makes me so excited! We’ve had many different dress up days: PJ day, Dynamic Duo, Barbie vs. Oppenheimer, Jersey Day, (and my personal favorite) SPIRIT DAY!!

Hillcrest had our very first parade, and clubs and sports were able to participate in it. There were a lot of people who came to walk in the parade, but even more people were there to support! I love seeing the community supporting Hillcrest; everyone had such a fun time and we cannot wait to continue to do the parade in upcoming years! Yay for new traditions!

Friday was a big day for Hillcrest. The school day started with a pep rally and there was SO MUCH school spirit shown by everyone in the building - I love having students in the building that love Hillcrest just as much as me! #GORAMS! After school was the Hillcrest vs. Powdersville Varsity football game and yet again, the Rams showed their amazing skills with a 52-14 win. I mean, I knew it was in the bag, but now we have PROOF! During halftime, the 2023 Homecoming Court was presented and the Homecoming King and Queen were announced. The new queen is Aniya Patterson and the King for this year is Jacob Bennon! After the thrilling game and court procession, the party moved inside the school for this year's Homecoming dance! Students had a blast dancing around and hanging out with friends. There was even a DJ - hello, COOL!

There’s definitely no question that school spirit is one of my favorite things ever, but it is also so important to the school and our environment. This week has truly shown me that I am not the only one with a supreme love of Hillcrest. Having students, faculty, and the community show their support to Hillcrest is AWESOME and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for us!

Until next time!

  • XOXO Rambo
